About the Role

We’re seeking a proactive and technically proficient Cyber Security Engineer to join a leading managed security services provider, working in collaboration with a global cybersecurity partner. The role is based in an inner-city Brisbane suburb (close to all public transport)

As a consultant, you’ll work with client environments across a range of industries to assess, implement, and support security solutions and controls. You’ll support threat detection, incident response, and continuous improvement of security postures in both on-prem and cloud environments.

Must be an Australian Citizen.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of cybersecurity assessments, risk reviews, and technical gap analyses.
• Assist in the deployment, tuning, and use of SIEM/XDR/SOAR platforms (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel, QRadar, Chronicle, or Splunk).
• Contribute to incident response activities and post-incident reviews.
• Work with multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) to review and support security configurations and compliance.
• Provide input into client security roadmaps and contribute to documentation and reporting.
• Collaborate with internal security operations teams and client stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years in a cybersecurity role with consulting or operational exposure.
• Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise SIEM or XDR platform.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, or Essential Eight.
• Understanding of cloud security principles (ideally with AWS and/or Azure).
• Experience supporting incident response or threat detection.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
