Over the past few years, our success has grown, we’ve tested our minimum viable product (MVP) with thousands of learners and educators. Now, we’re embarking on a rebuild to create a scalable system from the ground up to support global growth and long-term impact in education.

We’re seeking a Founding Full Stack Engineer or hands on CTO to lead the architecture, development, and scaling of our next-generation EdTech platform. This high-impact role is for someone ready to take full ownership of the development lifecycle and shape the future of immersive learning. You’ll collaborate closely with the leadership team, act as a key decision-maker, and have the opportunity to further grow into a co-founder role with significant equity in a company poised for global scaling.

You’ll be responsible for building foundational backend systems (APIs, media libraries), ensuring security and scalability for student access, and supporting deployments for partners. Key Responsibilities

• Lead development of the next-gen EdTech platform from inception to deployment
• Build secure, scalable backend infrastructure using modern frameworks
• Develop APIs and services to support platforms
• Collaborate with content, product, and business teams to integrate content management system (CMS) tools
• Shape the long-term technical vision and build the engineering roadmap
• Collaborate with and grow a small, high-performing development team
• Support the transition from MVP to production-grade, high-availability architecture
• Maintain code quality and implement best practices in security and testing

Requirements

• 5+ years of full stack development experience (or demonstrable project-based equivalent)
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills
• Proficiency in building cloud-based applications (e.g., Node.js, Express, Next.js, or similar)
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, etc.)
• Solid understanding of API development, authentication flows, and backend infrastructure
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Vercel, Firebase, or similar)
• Passion for EdTech, immersive learning, or building tools with social impact
• Willingness to take initiative, wear multiple hats, and lead from the front

Nice to Have

• Experience with immersive technologies (e.g., WebXR, Babylon.js, A-Frame, or Three.js)
• Familiarity with real-time communication tools (WebSocket, WebRTC)
• Background in building or scaling B2B SaaS platforms
• Experience working with CMS and analytics tooling
