Our Middle East operations have an exciting opportunity for a Design Manager/Project Manager to join our Abu Dhabi office in the UAE. Reporting to the Property and Buildings Group Manager, this position will suit a Senior/Principal Architect/Engineer with a track record of people, project and client management, who is seeking to work in a challenging and collaborative atmosphere.

The successful candidate will possess the following;

• Minimum 7 years’ experience with minimum 5 years’ consultancy or contractor background.
• Experience in preparing winning fee proposals and tenders will be an advantage.
• Extensive design experience from concept through to construction, across a range of project types including residential, commercial, hospitality, medical, education and high-rise developments.
• Proven track record of delivering multidisciplinary design projects, on time and within budget, in a variety of industries.
• Ability to successfully manage clients and other significant internal and external stakeholders.
• Extensive experience in preparing design briefs, fee proposals and negotiating contracts with both subcontractors / sub consultants.
• Developing and agreeing job work packages, budget and progress monitoring with other team leaders.
• Leading and chairing technical coordination meetings and interdisciplinary checks with project team.
• Implementing SID “Safety in Design” principals throughout the design process.
• Implementing and monitoring a ISO 9001 Quality Assurance Structure throughout projects.
• Ability to support project team in obtaining local authority approvals.
• Middle East experience and a working knowledge of design and construction practices specific to this region.
