We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced XR Design & Software Engineer with expertise in developing XR, Gaming related tools & supporting the XR reviews to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in XR related tools & immersive technologies with programming skills & cloud computing exposure. Any exposure to CAD, PLM & Visualization domain is an added advantage. As a XR Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and conducting XR reviews with business team.

  • Design and Development: Create interactive and engaging virtual environments using VR/XR technologies.
  • Software and Hardware Proficiency: Demonstrate expertise in VR/XR software and hardware, including programming languages like C++, C#, and Unity.
  • Collaboration: Work with designers, artists, and other engineers to create cohesive experiences.
  • Troubleshooting and Optimization: Identify and resolve issues within XR applications and optimize performance.
  • Documentation: Thoroughly document code and technical specifications.
  • Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest XR technologies and trends.
  • User Experience Focus: Prioritize user experience and accessibility in all VR/XR projects.
  • 3D computer graphics hardware
  • Specialties/differences in graphics card models (GPU/Memory), how to measure GPU load, be able to advise the users on the fitting hardware offering for their use-case needs.
  • Basic hardware support (connect a monitor, connect a WACOM Cintiq tablet or other Design specific hardware to a PC)
  • Install the necessary Windows 10 driver software (if not pushed by SCCM)
  • Knowledge of all the different video standards e.g., DisplayPort, HDMI, USB-C, etc. and video resolutions FullHD, UHD, fps, etc.
  • 3D computer graphics COTS software (Alias, VRED, Maya, Blender, Unreal, etc.)
  • Familier with main 3D graphics formats and APIs: IGES, STL, FBX, gLFT and OpenGL
  • Capabale to assist with installation (if not pushed by SCCM)
  • Support basic questions on software settings and usage.
  • Unreal Game Engine (5.0+) - Unity is a plus.
  • Specialty hardware (Extended Reality)
  • VR configurations incl. VR headsets from Varjo, HTC and/or Meta Quest (MQP)
  • Non-standard monitors (e.g., 32” UHD, hardware color-calibratable models, HDR-capable)
  • Large format plotter and their support software
  • Color calibration tools for plotter and monitors
  • Milling machines and their support software
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Game Design or work equivalent experience.
  • Programming Languages:
  • 5+ years in XR Development Tool experience, familiar with various XR development tools and platforms.
  • 2+ years proficiency in C++, C#, JavaScript, or Swift is essential for developing XR applications.
  • 1+ years experience in Game Engines, with Unity and Unreal Engine is highly valued for creating 3D environments and immersive experiences.
  • 3D Modeling & Animation: Experience / Exposure in 3D modeling and animation may be beneficial.
  • Design and UX/UI Skills:
  • 2+ years of User Experience (UX) & Interaction Design: Develop an understanding of UX principles and how to design engaging and intuitive XR experiences.
  • 2+ Visual Design: Able to create visually appealing and effective XR environments

This role is based out of Dearborn MI, you will be required to be on-site up to 3 days/week.
