Position Summary: The Data Science Intern is responsible for providing day-to-day support to the business as needed, including requirements and data gathering, preparation, data analysis, modeling, reporting, and data visualization.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist with data research, enrichment, modeling, and analysis.
• Write SQL to collect and prepare data for analysis.
• Perform data analysis, processing, and modeling in Python.
• Support dashboard and visualization development in Tableau.
• Provide input on data visualization techniques and opportunities.
• Participate in team reviews of analysis to provide additional insights and perspectives on the analysis.
• Various project and processes assistance as needed.
  
  

Experience And Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Analytics, IT, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
• Experience in data analytics and predictive analytics.
• Knowledge of or experience with data visualization tools, such as Microsoft Excel or Tableau.
• Foundational understanding of databases and SQL.
• Familiarity with common python data science packages; pandas, NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn, statsmodels, XGBoost, and Prophet.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and/or Access).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
  
  

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Or Certifications

• Experience with Python, R, SQL.
• Demonstrated knowledge of machine learning and statistical modeling.
• Knowledge of common classification (XGBoost, logistic regression, SVP, etc.), and forecasting (ARIMA, SARIMAX, Prophet) algorithms.
• Experience common to putting an ML model into production; version control, object-oriented programming, writing unit tests, etc.

• Normal office environment.
• Performs indoor work in a climate-controlled environment.
