Project Manager - FMCG Distribution Centre (warehouse) setup and design.


The Senior Project Manager position will lead all stages of the project from detailed design, build test and full deployment of a brand new Distribution Centre for our FMCG client in the east Paris region.


The project is already in flight with all key data collected, scenario modelling completed, and high-level recommendations understood. The programme is made up of various workstreams.


The purpose of the project is to optimise the Supply Chain network, whilst setting up the right facilities to manage the service for our customers for the future.

The successful candidate must have previous supply chain experience related to distribution centre design, experience in expansion and state of the art, sustainable facilities across Europe (specifically in France) and be able to demonstrate solid project management skills in deploying complex change and desired business outcomes.


Primary responsiblities:


  1. Own all actions and deliverables related to the project going forward.
  2. Advance the project from a business case through to full deployment whilst maintaining control of costs, quality and scope.
  3. Build upon the modelling recommendations to include factors excluded from modelling (taking it from theoretical to realty).
  4. Bring expertise to the project in relation to local employment laws which should be considered when opening distribution facilities across EU countries (specifically France).
  5. Work in collaboration with project sponsors and other stakeholders within the business to ensure shared ownership for the delivery of project outcomes and manage the projects financial reporting of project cost and benefits.
  6. Co-ordinate the agreed and defined deliverables through collaboration with the business, process and data analysts, IT, HR, Legal, Procurement and other 3rd parties.
  7. Deliver change into the organisation through the application of ‘best in class’ project, programme, and change management methodologies.
  8. Own on site project stakeholder relationships and engage the business more broadly with project communications and updates to the wider organisation.
  9. Play an active role in continuously improving the engagement and performance of the project team.
  10. Establish and sustain effective governance and reporting in line with the agreed central PMO framework to ensure the appropriate level of control is in place across the project.
  11. Coordinate all project and operational related resources where required.


Essential skills:


  • Extensive (5 year +) experience working in Supply Chain environments


  • Experience of opening new distribution facilities in France.


  • Experience of managing a project from business case through to deployment


  • French and English speaking – Fluent


  • Knowledge of local employment laws within France.


  • Ability to bring strong Stakeholder relationships. Exceptional communication skills.


  • Excellent facilitation skills.


  • Good understanding of BREEAM accreditation criteria
