Our client, a leading financial institution at the forefront of electronic trading innovation, is seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join their cutting-edge eTrading Risk Technology team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a major multinational based in South Dublin on a daily rate contract basis.
This position is ideally suited to experienced SDETs who combine hands-on Python expertise with a strategic approach to test engineering and automation at scale.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated test automation frameworks for both UI and backend systems.
- Collaborating with developers, QA engineers, and business analysts to ensure testability and quality are embedded throughout the SDLC.
- Implementing best-in-class testing methodologies including Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).
- Contributing to CI/CD practices and tooling integration to streamline and scale automated testing.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong coding background, particularly in Python, with hands-on experience building automation suites.
- Experience with a range of test frameworks and tools: Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber/Behave, JUnit, BDD.
- Demonstrated end-to-end test automation experience across UI, backend services, and APIs.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs and experience with API testing tools such as Postman, Groovy, or Rest Assured.
- Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams in fast-paced delivery cycles.
