- We are looking for a highly experienced and visionary Head of Engineering to lead a growing engineering team (4-7 members) developing FDA-regulated AI medical imaging software for our U.S.-based client. Our client is a pioneer in developing automated measurement technology for cardiovascular imaging. As Head of Engineering, you will play a critical role in driving innovation and shaping the future of cardiovascular imaging technology by leading a team in the development of cutting-edge solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers in the design, development, and implementation of scalable, high-performance software solutions for automated cardiac chamber measurements.
- Act as the primary technical leader in product architecture, overseeing the integration of software with medical imaging technologies to enhance measurement accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including data scientists, clinicians, and software developers—to align engineering efforts with business goals and product requirements.
- Set and enforce high standards for code quality, performance, and security, ensuring all software solutions are built with reliability and compliance at the forefront.
- Drive the development of new algorithms and optimize existing ones to improve precision in cardiovascular measurements.
- Guide the creation of intuitive user interfaces for medical professionals, ensuring the seamless visualization of complex data.
- Stay on the cutting edge of technological advancements and industry best practices, applying new insights to continuously refine and elevate our products.
- Provide strategic insights to senior leadership regarding engineering capabilities, limitations, and emerging trends in cardiovascular imaging.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior engineering or leadership role, ideally within health tech or a related field.
- Proven expertise in full-stack development, with a deep understanding of front-end and back-end technologies.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, and SQL, with expertise in Django and NodeJS.
- Strong proficiency in AWS and GCP cloud architecture.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes.
- Solid foundation in database management and data architecture, including data modeling and optimization.
- Proficiency with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines to support robust development workflows.
- Demonstrated success in leading engineering teams to deliver complex, high-quality software projects on time and within budget.
- Exceptional problem-solving and strategic thinking skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Outstanding english communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with machine learning and data analysis frameworks as they relate to medical imaging.
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance standards within medical software development.
- Prior medical device experience is a plus.
