Job Title: DevOps Engineer with Linux System Administration

Total Experience Required: 6+ years in Information Technology/Computers/Software

Relevant Experience Required:

• 2+ years in Linux system administration (RedHat, Ubuntu, etc.)
• 4+ years in Terraform, Ansible, and GitHub

Job Type: Contract

Contract Duration: A minimum duration of 3 to 6 months, with the possibility of extension up to 18 months or beyond, depending on project requirements.

Workplace Type: Hybrid (at least 3 times a week at office)

Languages Required: English

Visa/Work Authorization Status: Candidates must hold a valid work permit or visa to work in the Switzerland

Work Location: Bioggio, Switzerland

1. Must be currently based in Switzerland, or
2. Willing to relocate to Switzerland from anywhere within Europe or the UK
3. Candidates outside Europe/UK unfortunately cannot be considered

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support a cloud transformation initiative with a strong focus on Linux components. This is a full-time contract position ideal for professionals who excel in automating, securing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code and containerization.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless migration of applications to the cloud, with high availability, performance, and compliance in mind.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and manage infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible
• Build and orchestrate containers using Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Jenkins
• Lead cloud migration and transformation activities
• Implement monitoring, backup strategies, and enforce cloud security best practices

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Linux system administration (RedHat, Ubuntu, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, and GitHub
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms, preferably OCI
• CI/CD implementation with tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI
• Expertise in containerization with Docker and Kubernetes

Optional Skills

• Experience with cloud-native monitoring tools like CloudWatch or Splunk
• Exposure to backup and storage solutions in Linux environments
• Basic programming in Python or Bash
• Familiarity with networking concepts such as load balancers and firewalls
• Awareness of security protocols and compliance standards
