Sustainability Chief

We are seeking a Sustainability Chief to lead the integration of sustainability principles into all operational and strategic layers of our airport. This role plays a pivotal part in aligning ISG’s practices with national and international sustainability standards while fostering an organization-wide sustainability culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement ISG’s corporate sustainability strategies in line with broader business objectives.
• Establish and coordinate a Sustainability Sub-Committee with departmental representatives, ensuring quarterly meetings and continuous engagement.
• Collect and analyze sustainability-related data from all departments (e.g., energy and water consumption, reduction projects, etc.) and lead the preparation of annual sustainability reports.
• Monitor and evaluate emerging trends, legislative changes, and sectoral innovations (e.g., ACI, ICAO, SHGM, etc.) to ensure ISG remains proactive and compliant.
• Organize internal awareness campaigns, including at least two training sessions per year and regular bulletin/email communications.
• Act as a key liaison between ISG and external stakeholders including regulatory authorities (Ministries, HEAŞ, DHMI, Municipalities, NGOs).
• Collaborate with all departments to identify and implement sustainability opportunities, reporting results to the Sustainability Steering Committee and senior leadership quarterly.
• Participate in national and international sustainability-related events, such as webinars, conferences, and workshops.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in sustainability, preferably in complex operational environments such as airports or infrastructure sectors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline. A Master’s degree in Sustainability, Energy, or Environmental Sciences is a strong asset.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and reporting frameworks such as:
• GRI Standards
• Turkish Sustainability Reporting Standards (TSRS)
• ISO 14001 (Environmental Management)
• ISO 50001 (Energy Management)
• Greenhouse Gas Protocols
• ISO 27001 (Information Security)
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to work across departments and with government entities.
• A proactive, analytical thinker with a passion for developing future-forward sustainability systems.
