Lead Java Developer

Role Overview

As a Senior Java Developer, you will take a leading role in designing, building, and evolving core backend systems. You will collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and other engineering teams to drive innovation while maintaining high standards in code quality, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement complex backend systems using Java (preferably Java 11 or newer)
• Contribute to architecture discussions and decisions
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code
• Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews
• Drive continuous improvement in development practices and processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver product features from concept to production

Must Haves:

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (required)
• Native language proficiency (Norwegian or other Scandinavian language)
• Experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture
• Familiarity with modern CI/CD pipelines and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases
