Location: Abu Dhabi

Duration: 12 Months Contract

We are looking for a Network engineer to Join our team and is responsible for the deployment, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure in line with project requirements and SLA commitments. The role involves managing network solutions, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of the network systems, and providing Level 2 support to meet client and organizational needs. The projects primarily focus on Cisco Nexus Data Center Networking, Nexus Dashboard for VxLAN fabric, Fortigate Data Center Firewalls and Checkpoint Firewalls for perimeter security.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Deployment:

• Participate in the design and deployment of network solutions for data center projects, including Cisco Nexus switches, Nexus Dashboard for VxLAN fabric, Fortigate Firewalls and Checkpoint Firewalls.
• Implement advanced network configurations and upgrades based on project scopes and timelines.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure project requirements are met.
• Conduct site surveys and prepare documentation, including network diagrams, configuration guides, and runbooks.
• Ensure compliance with best practices and organizational security policies during deployments.

SLA Support:

• Provide Level 2 technical support for data center and perimeter network-related incidents and service requests within SLA timelines.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality of Cisco Nexus, Fortigate and Checkpoint devices.
• Escalate complex issues to Level 3 support or vendors when required.
• Assist in maintaining accurate documentation of network assets, configurations, and incidents.
• Conduct periodic health checks and preventive maintenance on network equipment.

Network Management and Optimization:

• Perform regular audits of the data center network infrastructure to identify areas for improvement.
• Implement changes to optimize network performance and reduce downtime.
• Manage firmware upgrades and patches on Cisco Nexus, Fortigate and Checkpoint devices to ensure they are up to date.

Security and Compliance:

• Ensure the security of network infrastructure by implementing best practices and adhering to compliance requirements, including configuring firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems.
• Support the implementation of perimeter security using Checkpoint Firewalls.

Collaboration and Reporting:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including systems administrators, security engineers, and project managers.
• Provide detailed incident reports and project status updates to management.
• Document all network-related activities, configurations, and changes in the organization's knowledge base.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. A diploma in a relevant field is also acceptable with additional years of experience in network technologies.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLANs, VPNs).
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus switches and Nexus Dashboard for VxLAN fabric.
• Experience with Fortigate Firewalls in data center environments.
• Familiarity with F5 Load Balancers, including Web Application Firewall (WAF) configurations.
• Knowledge of Checkpoint Firewalls for perimeter security.
• Experience in configuring and troubleshooting LAN/WAN environments.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
• Knowledge of security protocols and practices, including firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Certifications:

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
