Senior Network Security Engineer

Purpose: This position is responsible for safeguarding the organization's network infrastructure, ensuring its security, integrity, and availability.

Job Summary: The incumbent's goal is to design and maintain secure network architectures, monitor threats, collaborate with IT teams to protect against cyber threats, provide VoIP & communications support, and serve as a first responder for network security issues.

Main Responsibilities & Tasks

• Design & implement secure network architectures and solutions to protect against cyber threats
• Design & deploy ITC secure network architectures, incorporating security tools such as firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS
• Collaborate with network engineers to integrate security measures into the network infrastructure for optimal protection
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential security risks
• Investigate security incidents, determine root cause, and implement procedures to contain & eliminate threats
• Develop & maintain incident response plans to ensure timely and effective response to security breaches
• Proactively monitor network activity for suspicious behavior using advanced security tools and analytics
• Maintain accurate hardware serial audits & inventory, and perform regular network configurations backup
• Schedule & perform upgrades to ensure data network and security equipment are running on latest stable firmware releases
• Collaborate with GRC / IT teams to ensure adherence to security policies and regulatory requirements
• Implement and maintain security automation tools to streamline security processes & improve efficiency
• Continuously improve security posture through automation, innovation, and best practices
• Provide timely and effective tier 1, 2 & 3 and higher-level technical support for network related issues
• Troubleshoot complex network problems and outages, analyzing & resolving issues promptly
• Coordinate issue escalation and resolution with ISP service providers & other stakeholders as needed

Minimum Required Qualifications, Certificates & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum 6-7 years of experience in network security engineering

Any relevant certification or training such as:

• CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
• CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
• CompTIA Security+
