Freelance Project Manager

For our logistics customer in Antwerp I am searching for a freelance IT Project Manager for a long-term freelance mission for the division which delivers reliable and sustainable IT solutions for the financial securities markets.

The team looks after the solutions used by internal corporate teams such as Finance, HR, Risk, Audit, Compliance and Legal. The applications in scope are mostly packaged solutions from external vendors and support from tens to thousands of users.

You will assist and manage several initiatives (new packages implementation, upgrade of existing packages/infrastructure, enhancements to existing applications...) across the multiple domains they support. The applications may be SAAS, cloud hosted or hosted on premise - when hosted on premise, the role requires coordination of the infrastructure teams (internal or external).

Responsibilities:

• Writing of comprehensive project memos, allowing the management to take relevant decisions

• Delivery of the project scope on time, on budget, and with the expected quality

• Manage virtual teams across various divisions and entities, including third party suppliers

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with your customers

• Develop and maintain project plans and forecasts, including resource requirements, costs, risks

• Define deliverables, assign their production to project team members and monitor their progress and quality

• Manage the staffing of assigned projects and monitor budget spent

• Lead the risk, issue and change control processes for assigned projects and track action items

• Control and monitor the progress of projects, reporting to IT Management and to your sponsor

• Manage the project according to the internal standards (methodology & tools)

Job Profile:

• Senior in an IT PM function

• Exposure to large business package implementation/upgrade projects

• Strong leadership skills, which you can adapt to the situation and to the different stakeholders

• Experience in architecture/design of packaged applications

• PRINCE 2/PMI certified (or similar)

• Able to take global/lead position on initiatives across IT/Infrastructure/Business

• Able to select a solution/package for the business in an early phase

• Experience selecting vendors and working with chosen partner for the solution

• Knowledge of financial, risk, compliance, legal or audit packages
