About The Role

We are looking for a software expert to lead our Qt for MCUs R&D team in Oulu, Finland.

Qt has a targeted software solution for microcontrollers (MCUs) and resource-limited microprocessors (MPUs). The solution is called Qt for MCUs, and it is rapidly gaining popularity in the market. Increasingly, many products are made with this technology, ranging from automotive and motorcycle clusters to home appliances, medical devices, industrial products, vehicles, and more.

This role combines your passion for embedded software technology and your skills to coach, manage, and inspire a team of talented software engineers.

You will lead a team of developers, foster a collaborative and engaging team culture, and support the team in reaching its goals. Alongside leadership, you’ll actively contribute to development, spending most of your time on advanced technical work. You’ll help shape Qt for MCUs within the world’s leading cross-platform C++ framework and ensure developers can deliver great user experiences across embedded, desktop, and mobile platforms.

What You’ll Do

• Actively contribute to the development process by writing robust, modern C++ code
• Participate in software design and architecture discussions.
• Work hands-on with the world's leading cross-platform C++ framework, focusing on embedded systems.
• Coach, mentor and inspire team members, helping them grow their technical skills
• Implement best practices in software development
• Facilitate open communication and knowledge sharing within the team
• Motivate and guide team members toward achieving their goals
• Ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.

What You Bring To The Table

• Extensive experience with the C++ programming language
• Experience with debugging and profiling on embedded devices
• Scrum experience
• Hands-on experience working on embedded software projects, with or without an OS
• In-depth understanding of software design and architecture principles
• Proficiency in graphics programming on embedded devices is a plus
• Familiarity with the Qt framework and QML is a plus
• Leadership and/or mentoring experience in managing software development teams is a plus
• Ability to work within a diverse team
• Excellent communication skills to represent the team internally and externally
• Ability to keep information flowing within the team and with other stakeholders
• Advanced English communication skills, both verbal and written (English is our corporate language)
