Software Developer II

📍 Location: Hybrid – Dublin (2–3 days onsite per week)

📅 Contract: 6 months (with potential for extension)

💶 Rate: €480 per day (DOE)

We're hiring an experienced Java Developer to join a high-performance product team working on a cutting-edge fraud and identity decisioning platform. This role offers the chance to contribute to an industry-leading system that processes billions of transactions monthly with ultra-low latency.

You'll be working on a complex, cloud-native, Java-based platform used to power intelligent, secure decision-making for major global financial services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and support robust Java applications and REST APIs.
• Develop scalable, resilient components using Spring Boot and modern architectural patterns.
• Collaborate with a global Agile team throughout the software lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues as a subject matter expert.
• Drive performance, security, and reliability improvements.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and Agile ceremonies.

Skills & Experience

✅ Strong Java development background with Test-Driven Development (TDD)

✅ Experience with Spring Boot and RESTful APIs

✅ SQL and Oracle database experience

✅ Familiarity with resilient design patterns (e.g., retries, circuit breakers, throttling)

✅ Proficient in unit/integration testing with JUnit, Mockito

✅ Hands-on with Maven, Git, Jenkins, and JMeter

✅ Exposure to cloud platforms like PCF or AWS

Nice to Have

• Event-driven systems experience (e.g., Kafka, MQ)
• Monitoring/observability tools (Splunk, Dynatrace, Prometheus, etc.)
• UNIX/Linux (Red Hat, Solaris)
