Network Engineer

Getronics is seeking a searching for a Network Engineer to join our team supporting the European Parliament. This role is integral to the stability, performance, and continuous evolution of a high-availability, large-scale network environment.

You’ll be part of a dynamic, solutions-driven team, working at the heart of European democracy.


Your Responsibilities

  • Manage, maintain, and support the Parliament’s network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi)
  • Ensure performance, integrity, and security of a high-availability network serving thousands of users
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions
  • Participate in team knowledge sharing, technical problem-solving, and continuous improvement discussions
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to manage incidents and ensure operational excellence


What You Bring

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise networking environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated experience with system analysis, documentation, and network design
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain focus in high-stress situations
  • Willingness to work in shifts (two daily shifts between 7:00 and 20:00) and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, including incident response and post-mortem reviews


Technical Expertise Required

  • Proven hands-on experience in network engineering roles
  • CCNP certification or higher
  • Deep understanding of key networking protocols (IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, QoS, 802.11)
  • Strong knowledge of the OSI and TCP/IP models
  • Hands-on experience with network diagnostic and analytics tools
  • Experience with wireless networking, cloud connectivity, and load balancers is a must
