Hi-D Imaging is medtech start-up company located in Winterthur ZH. We develop software applications and digital twins that combine machine learning, computer vision, and fluid dynamics to better understand and support treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Our team at Hi-D Imaging, in Winterthur (Switzerland) is currently looking for a

Deep Learning Engineer [80-100%] [f/m/d]

to support development and maintenance of the Hi-D Imaging Cardiovascular Suite platform.

We are looking for a Deep Learning Engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments, excels at solving complex challenges, and is passionate about leveraging AI/ML and traditional computer vision methods to develop new solutions in medical image analysis. You will join the development team behind the Hi-D Imaging Cardiovascular Suite, a cutting-edge platform advancing cardiac image analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize deep learning models for cardiac image analysis and classification.
• Analyze large-scale medical imaging datasets to extract clinically relevant insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, document, and validate AI solutions.
• Leverage traditional computer vision techniques for medical image analysis.
• Develop end-to-end medical image analysis pipelines—from concept and design to implementation, validation, and deployment.
• Uphold best practices—Agile, code reviews, documentation, automated tests, and CI—to deliver robust, scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of design and validation documentation in compliance with medical software standards.
• Implement rigorous testing and quality assurance processes to ensure reliability, robustness, and performance.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Sklearn).
• Experience with traditional computer vision techniques (e.g., OpenCV, Scikit-image).
• Proven track record in medical image analysis and/or related AI/ML applications.
• Proficiency in Python. Experience with multiprocessing, and multithreading is a plus.
• Experience with C++ is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to cooperate with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and documentation practices in medical software development is a plus.
• Fluency in English.
