Data Science Technical Leader (Relocation to Kuwait required)

We are looking for a "Data Science Technical Leader" for our client - one of the leading telco companies in Kuwait operating at a global scale.

Relocation is a must!

Key Responsibilities:

• Development, deployment, and maintenance of machine learning models (churn prediction, upsell/cross-sell propensity, product recommendation, anomaly detection, next best action/offer, etc.).
• Lead the data pipeline and modeling lifecycle: from feature engineering and model selection to deployment and monitoring.
• Design and implement micro-segments and personalization attributes for a 360-degree view of the customer, utilizing usage, revenue, product adoption, demographics, and outputs from related ML models.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers to ensure data readiness and integrity for modeling tasks.
• Continuously evaluate model performance and retrain as needed.
• Deliver insights and recommend actions based on model outputs to improve customer value and reduce churn.
• Maintain version control and documentation of models and projects.
• Lead and execute strategic data science projects that span multiple business areas: marketing, retention, upsell, cross-sell, fraud, geospatial, etc.
• Design and deliver AI-driven use cases with measurable business impact (e.g., reducing churn, increasing ARPU, optimizing campaign investment).
• Build, test, and deploy data science models, including supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement, and deep learning.
• Supervise and train data science team members to elevate their technical skills.
• Follow technological innovations in the market and translate them into applicable use cases for the business.
• Collaborate with relevant IT and business stakeholders to drive the adoption of data science initiatives across the company.

Required Skills:

• Hands-on experience applying data science solutions utilizing machine learning for various business KPIs.
• Experience with feature engineering, hyperparameter tuning, and model interpretability techniques.
• Proficiency in Python, R, or SAS, including ML libraries and visualization tools.
• Familiarity with telecom data (CDRs, usage data, customer profiles, billing).
• Knowledge of SQL and the ability to query and manipulate large datasets.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field. A master’s degree or higher is preferred.
• 7+ years of experience building ML models using consumer data, preferably in telecom, banking, or retail industries.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical results to business stakeholders.
• Passion for continuous learning and innovation.
