We are looking for a Product Onwer to join our growing global team at Sectigo.
This Product Owner will act as the primary liaison among the product management team, the development team, and key stakeholders. This person is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and managing the product backlog for a specific product area, and ensuring the software aligns with the business requirements.
This is a full-time role working in a hybrid model (3 days in office) based out of our Ottawa office, reporting to our Director, Product Management.

This Product Owner will act as the primary liaison among the product management team, the development team, and key stakeholders. This person is responsible for defining, prioritizing, and managing the product backlog for a specific product area, and ensuring the software aligns with the business requirements.

Here are the core functions, responsibilities, and expectations for this role:
- Product Backlog Management: Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and dependencies.
- Stakeholder Communication: Gather requirements from product management and key, business stakeholders, and effectively communicating product requirements to the development, QA, and operations teams.
- Prioritization: Decide which features to develop in each sprint based on business value, user needs, and technical feasibility.
- Collaboration with Engineering Teams: Work closely with the Development, QA, and Operations to ensure they have a clear understanding of the product requirements and answer any questions or provide context around the requirements.
- Sprint Planning and Review: Participate in or run sprint planning sessions to define sprint goals and backlog items, and lead sprint reviews to showcase completed work to stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned and related to the nature of this role and company initiatives.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field is strongly recommended.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a product owner role is required.
- Current and/or prior professional experience in a development, QA, and/or other technical role is required.
- A deep understanding of Agile development principles is required.
- Current and/or prior experience with cybersecurity products is strongly desirable.
- Proven experience working and delivering global SaaS solutions to customers.
- A strong technical acumen to understand software product architectures and design constraints.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners at all levels.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; ability to adapt to change and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Love solving hard problems and creating truly innovated products.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, with the ability to drive initiatives from concept to execution.
