Position Summary

The Manager, Marketing Automation & Acquisition is responsible for the management and execution of automated marketing campaigns that drive fan acquisition, engagement, and retention. This role manages the marketing technology (MarTech) stack and plays a key role in revenue-driving initiatives, with a strong focus on data, performance, and innovation.

This is a manager-level role that requires both strategic management and hands-on execution, with a mandate to grow our marketable fanbase and maximize campaign ROI.

Responsbilities

  • Manage and execute the marketing automation strategy across email, push, SMS, and in-app messaging.
  • Drive and track revenue-based campaigns, using automation to support ticket sales, paid products, and partner activations.
  • Ideate and implement growth strategies to acquire and retain fans through automated touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with nine CFL clubs to share marketing automation best practices, align on fan engagement strategies, and cross-promote successful growth tactics across teams.
  • Maintain and evolve marketing automation systems and integrations (CRM, CDP, etc.), ensuring data accuracy and functionality.
  • Segment audiences and build personalized journeys that increase engagement and fan value.
  • Lead A/B testing programs to optimize messaging, conversions, and campaign performance.
  • Analyze and report on campaign performance and fan engagement KPIs, offering clear, actionable insights.
  • Provide support to the broader digital team on ad hoc needs such as Google Analytics troubleshooting, landing page creation, and other MarTech related tasks

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing automation across multiple channels (email, push, SMS, in-app)
  • Hands on expertise with marketing automation tools (experience in Braze preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of customer lifecycle, segmentation, and behaviour-based targeting
  • Proven experience running campaigns that support revenue, ticketing, or sales outcomes.
  • Analytical mindset with experience using Excel, Tableau, and campaign reporting tools.
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing techniques, including A/B testing, naming conventions, and campaign optimization
  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to translate business needs into scalable, automated marketing solutions.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement in fan engagement

Other Considerations

  • Hybrid Model: The incumbent will be required to attend the office at least two (2) days per week. In addition, you are required to attend meetings and other business events at the office or other venues as business needs dictate.
  • Work Schedule: Due to the nature of the business, the incumbent must be available and willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.
  • Travel: Some travel may be required.
