To support our expanding blockchain infrastructure, we are seeking a Senior Blockchain Developer who will play a central role in designing, developing, and securing Lama’s blockchain-based systems. This includes custodial and non-custodial wallets, blockchain integrations, on-chain transaction services, and smart contract deployment.

Role Overview

As a Senior Blockchain Developer, you will lead the development of our blockchain layer and related APIs to support real-time crypto transactions and integrations with multiple blockchain networks. You’ll collaborate closely with product, backend, and security teams to deliver scalable and secure crypto services in a regulated environment.

Key Focus Areas:

• Crypto Wallet Infrastructure: Build and maintain secure APIs for deposits, withdrawals, and transaction tracking across Ethereum, Bitcoin, BSC, and Layer 2 networks.
• Blockchain Integration: Implement and manage integrations with third-party custodians, DeFi protocols, and smart contracts.
• Security & Compliance: Develop secure, auditable, and compliant blockchain workflows aligned with MiCA, GDPR, and AML/CTF policies.
• Smart Contracts: Write and audit smart contracts using Solidity or similar, with a focus on operational reliability and security.

Key Responsibilities

1. Blockchain Architecture & Development

• Build and scale blockchain node infrastructure and wallet services (custodial & non-custodial).
• Develop transaction APIs (ERC20, native tokens, NFT handling) with Web3.js or ethers.js.
• Integrate multi-chain support including Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, Flow, BSC, and Polygon.
• Implement event listeners and blockchain indexers for real-time transaction tracking.
• Collaborate on Layer 2 solutions and bridge functionality.

2. Smart Contract Design & Auditing

• Write, test, and deploy smart contracts (Solidity, Vyper).
• Conduct internal audits and contribute to secure contract design reviews.
• Collaborate with backend teams to integrate smart contract logic with core services.

3. Security, Key Management & Compliance

• Implement secure signing mechanisms (HSMs, MPC-based solutions).
• Ensure compliance with MiCA and AML regulations in crypto operations.
• Collaborate on design of transaction screening, risk scoring, and fraud detection systems.
• Log, monitor and secure all blockchain activity in line with PCI and ISO standards.

4. Infrastructure & Scalability

• Set up and manage blockchain nodes, indexing services, and transaction queues.
• Collaborate with DevOps to maintain scalable, resilient infrastructure using Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native tools.
• Optimise gas fees and transaction efficiency for cross-chain operations.

• Key Management: HSMs, Vault, MPC wallets
• Security & Compliance: AML APIs, MiCA alignment, OpenZeppelin libraries
• Integrations: Custodians, DeFi protocols, Chainlink, payment gateways

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in blockchain development.
• Strong understanding of Ethereum and EVM-compatible chains.
• Hands-on experience with Web3 tools, smart contract frameworks, and blockchain node management.
• Experience with gas optimization, on-chain event listening, and transaction management.
• Familiarity with cryptographic standards (ECDSA, encryption, hashing, Merkle trees).

Preferred/Nice to Have:

• Experience integrating with DeFi protocols, bridges, or Layer 2 networks.
• Understanding of cross-chain interoperability and rollups.
• Exposure to regulated crypto environments or previous work in crypto banking platforms.
• Experience with smart contract security audits and formal verification tools.
• Knowledge of AI or ML-based fraud detection in blockchain.
