ELK (Elasticsearch) – Job Description

The Opportunity

We are looking for hands-on expert in ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana) to support the delivery team in:

• Designing the monitoring capabilities incl. data collection, ingestion, retention, filtering, indexing and analysis).
• Providing advice concerning the selection of candidate applications and defining KPIs

considering application’s specificities.

• Technical decision-making e.g., about deployment of agents, identifying the operational and businessdata that needs to be collected and applying Open Telemetry standards.
• Implementing pilots on selectedapplications: data store,deployment of ELK components and agents, writing fit-for-purpose ElasticSearch scripts, creating Kibana dashboards etc.
• Defining test cases and implementing them on the pilots.
• Supporting the team to perform demos,capturing lessons learntand continuous improvement of the solution.

What we’re looking for

• Significant proven experience workingwith Elasticsearch stackdevelopment and/or administration.
• Proven experience in designing and delivering E2E data driven use cases.
• Strong experience in writing data ingestion pipelines using Logstash and other big data technologies.
• Experience in designing data structures using Elasticsearch indices.
• Good understanding on Visualisation components and techniques in Elasticsearch.
• Proven experience in performance management and tuning of Elasticsearch environment.
• IT experience ideally in both infrastructure and applications development teams.
• Technical expertise in distributed storage and computing environments.
• Good understanding of DevOps methodology using CI/CD pipelines. (Desirable)
• Extensive knowledge of Java, python or other functional programming language.
• Experience working with custom-made (Java-based) and enterprise applications.
• Minimum 2+ years of cloud exposure, preferably AWS (Desirable)
• Knowledge of Ansibleand shell scripting. (Desirable)
• Analytical thinking and strong communication skills.
• Anexcellent self-learner with enthusiasm to explore new features and implementing solutions using them.
• Experience in prototyping and working in an agile environment.
