What's the role?

The HERE Navigation team is building a next-generation, highly customizable embedded navigation product with an interesting technical stack and architecture. In fact, the in-car navigation is just one element of the entire developed ecosystem, other building blocks are i.a. APIs, libraries and SDK. We are an international team of engineers, designers and product managers working in an agile environment and we are looking for an experienced and passionate Lead Software Engineer to join our team.

As a Lead Software Engineer in our team, you will:

• Participate in the full engineering lifecycle from requirements clarification, design, development, integration, testing and release
• Work on challenging problems and collaborate efficiently with highly technical colleagues across teams
• Design, develop and ship exciting new features for the automotive industry
• Contribute to the architecture and design of the product
• Help less-experienced colleagues to accomplish their tasks
  
  

Who are you?

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
• Strong, proven professional experience with Kotlin and Android development
• Solid understanding of Android app architecture (e.g., MVVM, MVI, or Clean Architecture)
• Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose, Room, Retrofit, and related libraries
• Experience with Kotlin Coroutines
• Nice to have: Android Automotive experience
• Practical experience with writing unit and UI tests for Android applications
• Good English communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex topics
• Willingness to travel occasionally to our office in Berlin
