Head of Data

Job Purpose:

To oversee the strategic, governance, and technical aspects of Data Management in the Bank.

To facilitate and drive the execution of data projects as per agreed project plan.

To coordinate and expedite the planned activities on data projects with Project Management Office and deliver the data management objectives.

Job Accountabilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive data management strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Establish and enforce data governance policies to ensure data quality, privacy, security, and compliance.
• Lead data stewardship efforts to maintain data integrity and democratization.
• Work closely with the Data Protection Officer(s) to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with business units to tailor analytics and reporting solutions.
• Act as a liaison between senior management, external vendors, and IT teams.
• Budget Adherence, Monitor the variance between planned and actual project costs to ensure financial are met.
• Project delivery timeliness, Measure the percentage of projects completed within the scheduled timeframe.
• Stakeholder satisfaction, gather feedback from stakeholders to assess their satisfaction with project outcomes and communications.
• Team productivity, Track team productivity metrics such as tasks completed per week or project and compare against benchmarks.
• Risk Management & mitigation effectiveness, number of risks resolved within time, and impact on project success.
• Process efficiency, Measure the time and resources saved through process improvements implemented by the project manager.
• Quality of deliverables, evaluate the quality of project deliverables against predefined standards or benchmarks.
• Change management, Monitor the adoption rate and effectiveness of changes implemented within the organization.
• Generate ideas, recommend suggestions for improving processes resulting in enhanced data quality, reduction in turn-around time, delivering cost savings or reduction in expenses, and improve overall customer experience.
• No instances of complaints or proven incidents of non-compliance to policies, procedures, or regulations.

• Strong expertise in data governance, analytics, and tools

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in fields such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years’ experience in Banking Data Management projects: design, execution, and delivery; hands on experience in Enterprise Data warehousing and Data Analytics/ Business Intelligence Projects.
• Proficiency in defining and implementing enterprise data strategy, architecture, and governance.
• Proficiency in designing and delivering data analytics and business intelligence use cases.
• Skills in managing data management and AI driven data analytics projects in Cloud platforms.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or certifications in data governance and analytics tools.
• Excellent skills in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PPT, Word).
