We are seeking an experienced Cisco Network Engineer with hands-on expertise in the Cisco Nexus platform and a strong background in routing and switching. This role is primarily focused on the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our core network infrastructure. Additionally, this position will provide essential support for our Windows-based systems, including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Azure AD. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a CCNA certification and a passion for maintaining robust and secure network environments.

  • Up to $100,000 all in salary and benefits to start.
  • No sponsorship is available, Must live local to Delaware and be able to be onsite fully


Key Responsibilities:

  • Cisco Network Engineering (Nexus Focus):Design, configure, install, and manage Cisco Nexus series switches (e.g., Nexus 9000, 7000, 5000) in our data center and campus environments.
  • Implement and troubleshoot advanced Nexus features such as VPC (Virtual Port Channel), FabricPath (if applicable), and ACI (if applicable at a foundational level).
  • Manage and maintain Cisco Catalyst switches and ISR/ASR routers.
  • Monitor network performance, availability, and security across all Cisco platforms, ensuring optimal operation and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network connectivity and performance issues (LAN/WAN, data center).
  • Develop and maintain network security policies, including ACLs, VPN configurations, and firewall rule sets.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Systems Administration Support:Provide support for Microsoft Active Directory, including user/group management, GPO troubleshooting, and domain controller health checks.
  • Assist in the administration of Microsoft 365 services, including user account setup, licensing, and basic troubleshooting for Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Teams.
  • Support Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), including user synchronization and conditional access policies.
  • Contribute to routine system maintenance, server checks, and patching cycles.
  • IT Operations & Support:Serve as an escalation point for network-related incidents and provide Tier 2/3 technical support.
  • Collaborate with IT team members on infrastructure projects and technology upgrades.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency support, if required.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • CCNA Certification is mandatory.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Network Engineer, with specific, demonstrable experience configuring and managing Cisco Nexus platform switches.
  • Strong experience with enterprise-level Cisco routing and switching protocols and technologies (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP/VRRP, Spanning Tree, VLANs).
  • Experience with network security devices (firewalls, VPN concentrators).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory administration.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams).
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure fundamentals, especially Azure AD (Entra ID).
  • Proficiency with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent work experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • CCNA Enterprise certification or better (or significant progress towards).
  • Experience with specific firewall platforms (e.g., Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Cisco ASA/FTD).
  • Scripting skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for network automation.
  • Experience with data center technologies and design principles.
