Contract AI Engineer - LLMs, OCR, Python | Aerospace POC | Remote | £600/day Outside IR35
3-month contract (with extension potential)
Start: 1st July

We're working with a consultancy delivering a proof-of-concept project in the aerospace sector. They're looking for a hands-on AI Engineer to join from July, with strong Python skills and experience working with LLMs and computer vision tools.

The Role:

  • Train and fine-tune large language models (LLMs) for a domain-specific POC

  • Develop and support OCR and image processing workflows

  • Write production-quality Python code and support deployment

  • Collaborate with architects and wider stakeholders to deliver the solution

Key Skills:

  • Strong Python development experience

  • LLM model training and fine-tuning (e.g. GPT, Hugging Face)

  • OCR/image processing exposure

  • Deployment support and testing

  • Bonus: SQL or database querying skills

  • BCCP clearance preferred (or eligibility)

Details:

  • Start date: 1st July

  • Location: 1 day/week in Bristol during early phase, then remote

  • Rate: £600/day

  • IR35: Outside

  • Duration: 3 months, likely extension

  • Interview process: Starting this week
