Overview

A global consultancy is seeking an experienced Java Developer to join a long-term project with a leading private banking client in Geneva, Switzerland. This is a client-facing, hybrid role requiring deep technical expertise and prior experience in the banking or financial services sector.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Java application development
• Proven background in banking /wealth management essential
• Strong command of Spring Boot, REST services, Hibernate, and SQL
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and Agile (Scrum) practices
• Fluent in both French and English
• Must be based in Switzerland or willing to relocate and apply for a Swiss B Work Permit
• EU nationals only

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Exposure to Kafka, Jenkins, GitLab, Oracle/MySQL, Linux
• Experience working directly with clients to gather and translate business requirements into technical deliverables

Responsibilities

• Conduct functional analysis on banking workflow projects
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications
• Collaborate closely with Agile teams throughout development cycles
• Provide third-level production support and manage incident analysis
• Define and execute functional test cases and support user acceptance testing
• Contribute to architecture discussions and propose improvements to existing systems
• Support integration design while considering infrastructure and scalability requirements

Working Arrangements

• Hybrid: 3 days onsite in Geneva, 2 days remote
• Onboarding: Immediate availability preferred
