Senior Network Engineer

Join our leading school as a Senior ICT Network & Systems Administrator and make a real impact by delivering secure, reliable, and innovative IT solutions across our multi-site environment.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure 24/7 stable and secure connectivity, supporting both wired and wireless networks across all school locations.
• Design and maintain best-practice LANs, VLANs, DMZs, WANs, and advanced IPv4/IPv6 routing (including BGP).
• Manage Linux and Windows servers, virtual hosting (VMware, Proxmox, KVM, Hyper-V), and Azure environments.
• Oversee robust cybersecurity: firewalls, content filtering, threat protection, and compliance with Australian standards (Essential 8, XDR/MDR/EDR).
• Drive disaster recovery, backup, and resiliency strategies, ensuring business continuity.
• Provide timely support, resolve escalated tickets, and deliver IT projects on schedule.
• Maintain clear documentation and foster strong relationships with external partners.

What You’ll Bring

• Tertiary qualification in IT or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in a similar role (school, professional, or corporate environment).
• Advanced skills in networking (DHCP, DNS, HTTP(S), VLAN, BGP, NAT, QOS), virtualization, backup/disaster recovery, and Linux server management.
• Experience with AD, Azure, JAMF, Intune, and IT project management.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and people skills.
