Lead Data Analyst at a boutique Government Agency, Initial 12-Month Contract w/ Extensions

The team you will be working with is tasked with the development, delivery, and evaluation of procurement arrangements, as well as the management of supplier cohorts on these arrangements. Our mission is to streamline the process of purchasing digital goods and services for the government and selling to the government, ensuring it is straightforward, transparent, and secure.


Your new role

The team is seeking a Data Specialist to:

  • Assist in designing, creating, deploying, and managing the way data will be structured, stored, used, integrated, and managed in IT systems.
  • Support the sourcing, acquisition, management, integration and sharing of data to provide insights and drive data-based decision-making.
  • Design, analyse and deliver relevant, trusted, and objective statistics and data-related insights.
  • Prepare raw data for analytical or operational uses and make data accessible so that it can be used for optimisation, delivery of services and enhanced analytics solutions.

What you'll need to succeed

The key duties of the position are:

  • Support the direction and architecture of the data assets and data framework within the branch and specific data processes and needs.
  • Provides support, direction, and advice on any data processes to do with the procurement platform or any other data and automation processes within the branch.
  • It brings data sources to the data environment and sets up curation and automated jobs to process data pipelines.
  • Builds data models, data queries and prepares back-end data for front-end reporting and ad hoc data requests.
  • Builds and designs reporting dashboards, reports, and outputs to support operational and executive decision-making.
  • Interacts with business users and data consumers and gathers and understands business data needs.
  • Ensures data quality, data management and data processes are timely and executed appropriately.
  • Perform data analysis.
  • Manage database systems and the ability to design and maintain databases efficiently.
  • Data Visualisation.
  • Data cleaning and transformation, ETL experience and automation of data processes.
  • Understanding of statistical concepts and methods to interpret and communicate findings.
