We're working with a major player in the data and analytics space who is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Contract) to join their engineering team. This is a 12 month engagement (with strong extension potential) focused on building high-performance, large-scale data processing solutions using Python 3.10+, Scala, Spark, and Hadoop technologies.

You’ll play a key role in designing and delivering complex distributed systems that process massive data volumes — all while collaborating within a high-performing agile environment.

✅ What You’ll Bring:

• 8–15 years in software development
• Proven experience with Python, Scala, and Spark 3.x
• Hands-on with Big Data platforms like Databricks, Cloudera, or Teradata
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, OO design, microservices, and design patterns
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, version control (Git), and containerized development
• Excellent communication and a team-first mindset

💡 Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with Kafka, Hive/SparkSQL, NoSQL/relational DBs
• Experience working in cloud environments (Azure preferred, or AWS)
• Background in secure software development and mentoring junior engineers
