Contract Duration: 12 months (Potential to extend or go permanent)

Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join a data-driven team focused on building large-scale, high-performance applications and data solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Scala, Python, and big data technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable data processing applications
• Work with large data sets and big data platforms (Databricks, Cloudera, Teradata)
• Contribute to system design, architecture, and software development best practices
• Collaborate in an agile team to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Ensure code quality with CI/CD, testing, and monitoring tools

Essential Skills

• 8+ years of software development experience
• Strong proficiency in Scala and Python (3.10+)
• Experience with big data platforms (Spark, Hadoop)
• Familiarity with container-based microservices and OO design patterns
• Strong version control knowledge (Git)

Desirable Skills

• SQL (Hive/SparkSQL, ANSI SQL)
• Experience with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS)
• Exposure to cloud platforms (preferably Azure)
• Familiarity with secure coding and vulnerability scanning tools
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and UNIX scripting
