My client is seeking a Data Protection Advisor to support delivery across its Data Protection and Cyber-risk Service team. The role focuses on managing data protection compliance projects and providing support to clients on a variety of privacy-related matters. The role requires experience in GDPR, privacy assessments, and stakeholder engagement within a fast-paced consultancy environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver managed privacy services, including advisory notes, consent notices, and privacy policies.
• Conduct compliance audits, DPIAs, risk/gap analyses, and data mapping exercises.
• Support clients with data governance requirements and privacy best practices.
• Utilise internal peer review processes to ensure delivery quality and compliance.
• Identify risks and manage issues in client work with senior colleague support.
• Write client briefs, newsletters, and other outreach materials.
• Create, review, and update reusable document templates.
• Manage client relationships and act as a representative of the DCS team.
• Prepare project plans, client reports, and action items.
• Attend client meetings, events, and site visits as needed.
• Deliver project tasks and deliverables on time and to agreed standards.
• Support team coordination for project tasks, time management, and budget awareness.
Qualifications and Experience
• LLM or equivalent postgraduate qualification in law, data protection, or information governance.
• Certification such as CIPP/E or equivalent data protection/information security credentials.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a privacy, compliance, or data protection role.
• Demonstrated success delivering high-quality outputs within deadline.
• Experience managing client tasks and stakeholder communication.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Preferred
• Experience working in consultancy or with large/complex organisations.
• Knowledge of US or international privacy frameworks beyond GDPR.
• Experience producing newsletters and client outreach content.
• Strong client service orientation and stakeholder management skills.
• Working knowledge of project management tools and approaches.
