As Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll

Design, build, and continuously improve the backend powering our self-service portal. In a cross-functional Agile team of developers, QA engineers, UX designers, and business stakeholders, you will:

• Shape the roadmap – define, prioritize, and refine our backend vision, balancing scalability, cost, and reliability
• Design cloud-native microservices – architect secure, high-performance services on AWS that scale gracefully to meet demand
• Champion clean code – write, review, and test code to keep our codebase healthy and our releases smooth
• Build with confidence – embed security checks, logging, and monitoring from day one to catch issues early
• Collaborate across teams – align closely with architects, DevOps, and external partners on deliverables and standards
• Step into Tech Lead – grow into the go-to expert for backend strategy, taking on broader architectural and mentoring responsibilities.
  
  

Who We're Looking For

• 5 + years of professional Java development with strong expertise in Java 8+ features
• Spring Boot expertise for building production-ready microservices and REST APIs
• AWS cloud services experience including ECS, EC2 and core AWS infrastructure
• DynamoDB hands-on experience with NoSQL database design, querying, and optimization
• Microservices implementation experience
• Experience with RESTful API design and implementation
• Git version control with experience in collaborative development workflows
• JUnit testing including unit testing and integration testing
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills

Monthly salary range for this position: 4300 - 6200 EUR gross plus annual bonus based on your competencies and performance, as well as Telia's results.
