Senior Data Scientist

Responsibilities:

• Assisting in understanding and summarizing datasets to uncover patterns, spot anomalies, and test hypotheses.
• Creating intuitive and informative visual representations of data to aid understanding and communication of insights.
• Building and optimizing machine learning models to solve specific problems or make predictions.
• Assessing model performance using metrics and refining them as necessary to meet business objectives
• Implementing models in production environments so they can be used to generate real-world value.

You must have:

• Higher education in a STEM related field, with major statistics or mathematics components
• Five to ten years of experience in Data Science / ML projects
• Professional experience in end-to-end data science / machine learning initiatives, encompassing data understanding, preparation, modelling and evaluation, and deployment.
• Solid command of data science concepts and principles - especially around EDA, modelling and evaluation
• Professional experience with Python and industry standard Python data science / ML frameworks (e.g. scikit, pytorch, keras, opencv, pandas, others)
• Professional experience in data preparation/transformation (e.g. SQL, pandas)
• Professional experience working with a cloud environment is mandatory, AWS highly preferred.
• Experience with LLM, RAG, and Generative AI technologies is highly preferred.
• Professional experience with Databricks is highly valued
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Fluency in English is mandatory
• European Union Citizenship or Portuguese Working Visa / Portuguese Residency.
• Availability to go to the office, once a week.
