This entry-level role offers mentorship, professional growth, and the chance to contribute to cutting-edge healthcare technology. In this position, you will be building large scale data processing platforms, solving complex distributed data issues, and tuning performance of data processing pipelines. This opportunity requires creative problem solving within the guidelines permitted by law as well as implementing and supporting systems capable of processing healthcare data at unprecedented scale. Responsibilities include applying software engineering fundamentals to build reliable and user-friendly software solutions using modern cloud-based tools and practices; building large scale distributed systems, and data pipeline and ETL solutions; collaborating with teammates to develop and test components of Truveta’s platform, including web interfaces and backend services; participating in code reviews and learning best practices for writing clean, maintainable code; exploring and contributing to proof-of-concept integrations within Truveta’s ecosystem under the guidance of senior engineers; embracing curiosity and a growth mindset to learn about healthcare technology and deliver on our mission; adhering to Truveta’s principles of ethical innovation, privacy, and security, with ongoing training provided. Key qualifications include being a recent or expected graduate from a program in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or related field; familiarity with programming in one or more modern languages (e.g., JavaScript, dotnet, python, java) through coursework, internships, or personal projects; basic understanding of web development or backend development (e.g., HTML, CSS, REST APIs, databases, server-side logic); interest in learning about distributed systems, data pipelines, or healthcare technology as well as big data and ETL pipelines; strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn in a collaborative team setting; passion for Truveta’s mission to improve healthcare through data. Nice-to-have qualifications include experience with genomic data or healthcare-related projects, knowledge of SQL and Spark, exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) through academic projects or internships, and contributions to open-source projects, hackathons, or personal coding projects. The base pay for this position is $75,000 to $90,000, with pay based on several factors including location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
