Frontend Engineer - DeepSearch

The DeepSearch team is responsible for providing the best experience with Grok DeepSearch and search-related products. In this role, you will be at the forefront of AI search and agent, building systems from scratch and driving progress that will directly impact our product user experience, while contributing to the AI model and system quality and capability. You will be exposed to both cutting-edge research and high-impact user-facing products in this role. Responsibilities include developing and optimizing AI models and systems for deep exploration of massive web information, crafting delightful and efficient product features and interfaces for Grok search, advancing AI search through research and real-world iteration, working closely with research and data teams to develop training and evaluation pipelines, deploying novel agent ideas to support DeepSearch products, and collaborating with researchers, engineers, and product teams to integrate search capabilities into broader AI models and products. Ideal candidates may have experience with consumer-facing product growth, modern Search and RAG systems, real-world agent systems and products, strong background in algorithms and data structures relevant to search, familiarity with distributed systems and infrastructure for scalable search deployments, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The interview process includes an initial 15-minute phone interview followed by four technical interviews covering coding assessment, systems hands-on problem solving, project deep-dive presentation, and a meet and greet with the wider team.
