Position Name : FHIR Backend Developer

Location: 100% Remote

Position Type: W2 or Fulltime

Must-Have Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Golang
    • Strong ability to build, maintain, and test backend services and RESTful APIs using Go
  • FHIR and HL7 standards experience (must have both – specific to healthcare industry)
  • Strong understanding of API and service integration:
    • RESTful API development and backend database interactions
  • Microservices architecture experience with cloud-based environments
  • Unit testing in Golang (or comparable frameworks such as JUnit, Mocha, Chai)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Git, Docker, GitLab, and Harness
  • Monitoring & Observability: Proficiency with at least two of the following tools:
    • ELK Stack, Prometheus, Dynatrace
  • Version control and collaboration tools such as Git/GitLab
Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience working with MongoDB
    • Designing and implementing data models, optimizing query performance, and integration with microservices
  • Experience with Kafka
    • Creating and managing topics, building producers/consumers for asynchronous data streaming
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker)
  • Familiarity with:
    • JSON/XML data formats
    • Healthcare data integration and compliance (e.g., HIPAA)
  • Exposure to cloud-native deployment strategies (CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code)
Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain highly available, secure, and scalable backend services using Golang
  • Build RESTful APIs in compliance with FHIR and HL7 standards
  • Integrate and interact with MongoDB and Kafka in microservice environments
  • Participate in unit testing, code reviews, and performance tuning
  • Ensure observability with logging, monitoring, and alerts through tools like ELK, Prometheus, or Dynatrace
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, DevOps, QA, and product managers
  • Deploy code and infrastructure using CI/CD tools and Docker
  • Maintain security, compliance, and governance in alignment with healthcare best practices
