Mobile Engineer - Android

Gusto is seeking experienced Mobile Android Engineers with 7+ years of experience to create intuitive and enjoyable user experiences. The role involves architecting, building, testing, and refining Gusto’s native Android app and supporting mobile web views. Responsibilities include developing and improving product features integrating core business functions, collaborating cross-functionally with product, design, identity, security, and infrastructure teams, building and scaling essential services like push notifications and localization, and maintaining Android mobile infrastructure including build pipelines and release processes. Candidates should have strong Kotlin and Android software engineering skills, excellent communication, a self-driven mindset, proficiency in Android testing frameworks, experience with platform components for scalability and maintainability, critical thinking, attention to detail, and a passion for mentoring. Bonus skills include knowledge of Compose, GraphQL, MVVM architecture, analytics tools, and mobile infrastructure such as CI/CD and automated testing.
