Your Mission

As a DevOps Technician at Raven Software you will be empowering our development teams to deliver a world-class gaming experience. You will be responsible for assisting our developers with issues they encounter using tools and running our titles.

In some cases, you will directly solve problems, and in others you will connect the right developers to resolve issues. By surveying our automated testing and continuous integration tools, you will prevent or minimize downtime by making developers aware of new breakages. You will help investigate crashes and errors in both the development and live environments.

Qualified candidates need to be agile and self-starters. This is an exciting opportunity to join an award-winning video game developer, and work with some of the best gaming talent in the world. You will be on the front lines of ensuring our studio is operating and functioning at its peak capacity!

Hybrid:

This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, and the home studio for this role is Middleton, WI.

What You Bring To The Table

The video game industry and therefore our business is fast-paced and will continue to evolve. As such, the duties and responsibilities of this role may be changed as directed by the Company at any time to promote and support our business and relationships with industry partners. Therefore, this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

• Assist developers with issues they encounter while performing their work
• Triage/diagnose issues users run into, and provide a solution
• Escalate issues up to the appropriate engineering team if out of scope
• Search out and identify the underlying issues for developers
• Spend time solving small to mid-size issues
• Monitor our continuous integration and chase down breakage highlighted by automated testing
• Investigate crashes and errors from logs
• Suggest ways to improve our efficiency
• Contribute and improve internal documentation on tools and processes

Experience

Minimum requirements:

• 1+ years of experience with source control software (Perforce, Git, etc.)

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $20.77 - $38.46 Hourly. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
