Product Designer

Nourish
United States · Full-time · Entry

Nourish is on a mission to improve people’s health by making it easy to eat well. Nutrition-related chronic disease is the largest and most overlooked crisis in the world. Food can be medicine: working with a Registered Dietitian is one of the most effective interventions available, but <1% of eligible Americans use their covered benefits. Nourish is building an AI-native, patient-friendly healthcare system centered on nutrition that improves outcomes, lowers costs, and helps people live healthier, longer lives. We launched three years ago, are live in all 50 states, and already have thousands of dietitians and hundreds of thousands of patients on the platform. We are growing quickly, have partnered with national health insurance companies and provider groups, and have raised $115M from top-tier VCs including JP Morgan Growth Equity, Thrive Capital, Index Ventures, Y Combinator, Maverick Ventures, Box Group, Atomico, G Squared, and Pinegrove Venture Partners. Our angel investors include world-class healthcare founders from Oscar, Rightway Health, Headway, Spring Health, and Alto Pharmacy, as well as soccer star Alex Morgan and the founders from Olipop and Notion. At Nourish, we believe user experience is a massive differentiator that separates great products and services from average ones. As the company scales rapidly and sets ambitious goals, we are looking for a Senior Product Designer who can raise the bar from what Nourish is today to what we could be tomorrow. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to deliver on this differentiation in a highly meaningful way. You’ll own projects with significant scope and limited oversight, seeing them through from conception to execution and implementation. You’ll use your expertise in design, user psychology, and data-driven decision-making to create intuitive experiences that increase retention, deepen engagement, and boost conversion rates. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, a strong focus on experimentation, and a passion for designing excellent user journeys. This person will join our small Design team and report directly to our Design Lead. We are a team that cares about our work, but we try not to take ourselves too seriously. We believe deeply that empathy, trust, and collaboration are what drive the best outcomes and that work can feel like play! This role is full-time in NYC (in-person candidates only), with flexibility for some remote work. Nourish has an NYC office in the heart of Silicon Alley. Key Responsibilities: Design best-in-class experiences for our patients. This will include mobile apps and websites, but could also include our appointment experience or any other future product surfaces. You will iterate on existing features, create net new features, and continue to test both. Assist in qualitative user research. You’ll build prototypes, conduct interviews, and create surveys to test hypotheses about designs and products. Grow and maintain our design system. You’ll help the team operate efficiently and keep our quality consistent by helping manage our component library. The design <> engineering relationship is extremely important and part of this role will be to keep that relationship healthy. Help build a design culture at Nourish. We want to be a company that is known for quality and craft, and is willing to go the extra mile to make our patient and provider experiences excellent. No detail is too small, and no journey is under-considered. We’d love to hear from you if: You have 5+ years experience designing compelling digital products. You have 3+ years experience designing consumer products, including both mobile and web. You are obsessed with your customers and craft. You care deeply about understanding our users and building a truly delightful and impactful experience for them. You have an excellent understanding of foundational design principles and how to apply them. You do your own stunts. No task is below you, and you’re willing to step in to fill the gaps between teams to get the job done, whether it’s performing qualitative research, helping prepare pitch decks, or improving our website. You are a builder. You love building and shipping new features and can take a project from 0 to 1, and then iterate to continuously improve.
