SDE 1 - Backend Developer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Software Development Engineers I (SDE-1) to join our engineering team focused on enhancing the Customer Experience and Post-Order Journey. In this role, you will contribute to the design and development of scalable, high-performance backend systems and microservices that directly impact customer satisfaction.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, and DevOps to build robust, reliable solutions that ensure a seamless customer journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices using Spring Boot.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs to support core customer and post-order use cases.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following engineering best practices.
• Work closely with the team in an agile environment, participating in sprint planning, code reviews, and release cycles.
• Collaborate with engineers to design efficient schemas and queries for RDBMS systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Ensure high availability and performance of backend services through unit and integration testing.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.

Required Qualifications:

• Proficient in Java, with solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Hands-on experience with the Spring Boot framework.
• Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and service orchestration patterns.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and writing optimized SQL queries.
• Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.

Preferred (Good-to-Have) Skills:

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Working knowledge of Kafka or other messaging/streaming platforms.
• Experience with Docker and containerized application deployment.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes (K8s) for orchestration and scaling.
• Basic understanding of ReactJS or frontend-backend integration principles.
