Optiver is seeking a Senior Digital Signal Processing Engineer to help architect and develop our global, ultra-low-latency communication network. This role requires a strong foundation in statistical signal processing, linear algebra, and optimization, combined with solid practical engineering intuition. What You’ll Do
- Design and develop signal processing algorithms for cutting-edge RF transceiver systems, focusing on reliability in harsh propagation conditions and ultra-low latency performance. This involves:
- Modeling of complex physical phenomena, including RF signal propagation and hardware impairments, using statistical and linear algebra frameworks.
- Design of novel algorithms for signal detection, channel estimation, and tracking.
- Collaborate closely with system, software and FPGA engineers to implement and optimize your algorithms on real-time hardware platforms.
- While your primary responsibility lies in algorithm design, you will also be expected to drive innovation from theory to hardware implementation, ensuring your solutions are deployable on high-performance platforms.
- Keep up to date with state-of-the-art developments in signal processing, wireless communications, radar systems, and machine learning, and leverage these advancements to drive continuous improvements in transceiver design and performance
- In addition, you should be a strong team player—able to prioritize your activities in alignment with team goals, adapting as needed to meet shared objectives.
- Required qualifications
- Education: M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
- Experience: 3+ years in wireless communications systems, radar signal-processing, or a comparable domain
- Skill set:
- End-to-end problem-solving—from theory through implementation
- Strong grasp of linear algebra, estimation and detection theory
- Proficiency in Python
- Soft skills: Excellent written and verbal communication in English
- Optimization theory
- Tracking-algorithm design
- Machine-learning
- C / C++ development
