Product Manager

We are currently working on PRODUCT MANAGER role within a Digital Government agency based in Sydney OR Brisbane with a Hybrid working way (2 days in office) for an initial 12 month contract with confirmed extensions.

Day rate is subject to experience but around $700-$1,100 p/d + Super

As the Product Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of strategic digital products, ensuring alignment with national priorities across the Government sector. Operating at a high level of autonomy, the role involves driving the product vision and roadmap, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and engaging with internal teams and external stakeholders—including government bodies and industry partners—to deliver impactful, user-focused solutions..

Please note you need to be in a position to obtain a Baseline Security clearance (be an Australian citizen or have clearance already).

Role –

• Shape and steer product direction by developing a clear vision and roadmap, using customer insights and market trends to guide priorities.
• Keep the customer at the centre by identifying needs and translating them into impactful product features and improvements.
• Work collaboratively across teams, bringing strong communication skills to share ideas, align stakeholders, and build engagement around the product vision.
• Draw on a solid understanding of software development and technology to support decision-making and ensure alignment with technical teams.
• Use data to drive continuous improvement—monitor user behaviour, track performance, and refine the product to maximise value.
• Take ownership of delivery, balancing priorities and timelines to ensure successful outcomes across each phase of the product lifecycle.

Skillset –

• Over 4 years experience as a Product Manager
• Mobile app, web portal, API experience essential
• Agile/waterfall background
• Ability to develop and maintain product strategy
• Must have recent government experience
• Familiarity with DevOps and JIRA
• Able to build productive strategic relationships with key stakeholders
• Create a strategic vision for a digital product
• Utilise market and user research in work
• Knowledge of platforms highly desired
