Technical Dialogue Designer (Contract Position)

You are:

A passionate, creative, and driven technical dialogue designer with a desire to develop high-quality dialogue and voice-over content for video games. You have the enthusiasm to deliver amazing dialogue for major AAA projects alongside our development partners at studios like Sony Santa Monica, Sucker Punch Productions, Insomniac Games, Naughty Dog, Guerrilla Games, and many more.

As it turns out:

We are looking for a Technical Dialogue Designer to join our award-winning team to craft high-quality audio content for 1st and 2nd party product development projects. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with some of the most quality-driven developers in the industry and on some of the most exciting, immersive narrative AAA titles for PlayStation.

Responsibilities:

VO Systems: You will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of in-game VO logic using visual scripting. This includes debugging and problem-solving in-game VO triggering issues.

Technical Proficiency: You have a good understanding of dialogue production and post-production, where you will actively edit and master cinematic and in-game assets. You have knowledge of various middleware tools and engines used in interactive audio, where you will implement dialogue assets, update and fix bugs/issues using tracking software such as JIRA. In all these tasks, you will bring strong problem-solving skills and creativity.

VO Database Management: You will manage scripts and VO asset pipelines, as well as organize databases, spreadsheets, and files.

Collaboration with External Vendors: You will help manage file transfers with external vendors and review the work that they send back.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience; has shipped 1-2 titles
  • Experience visual-scripting for sound (Unreal Blueprints, Unity Bolt, CryEngine Schematic, or similar).
  • Professional experience working in a similar role on a sizable interactive media title.
  • Professional experience with audio middleware (e.g. FMOD, Wwise), perforce, game engines.
  • Strong speech/dialogue design skills.
  • Proficiency in at least one DAW (preferably Reaper).
  • Solid post-production and digital audio editing/mastering skills for both linear and nonlinear media.
  • Ability to collaborate well as part of a team.
