Software Engineer, Java - AI Training (Freelance, Remote)

Alignerr.com is a community of subject matter experts from several disciplines who align AI models by creating high-quality data in their field of expertise to build the future of Generative AI. Alignerr is operated by Labelbox, a leading data-centric AI platform for building intelligent applications. The role involves shaping the future of AI with Java by training and evaluating AI models to ensure they generate accurate, relevant, and high-quality information. Responsibilities include reviewing and evaluating AI-generated Java code for correctness, efficiency, and clarity; writing high-quality Java solutions to coding problems; creating clear, human-readable explanations for code logic and problem-solving strategies; and identifying and flagging edge cases or ambiguities in problem statements or AI responses. Candidates should be fluent in English with strong written communication skills, have expertise in Java including core concepts such as OOP, multithreading, exception handling, and standard libraries, and have 3-5 years of experience with Java frameworks or tools as a plus. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field is required, with Master’s or PhD preferred but not required. The position is freelance, compensated hourly, and candidates must be authorized to work in their country of residence without sponsorship. The role is not an internship and international students on valid visas may be eligible. Compensation varies based on skills, experience, and location.
