Full Stack Engineer

🚀 Fully Remote Full Stack Engineer (React + Node.js) | Brussels-Based Digital Transformation 🚀

⚠️ EU-Based Only | No Visa Sponsorship | Dutch or French Required

We’re partnered with a Brussels-based tech company undergoing a major digital transformation. They’re looking for a senior freelance full stack engineer to lead the overhaul of their frontend and refactor their backend into a modern, service-based architecture.

You’ll work closely with design, product, and other engineers to modernise their platform from both a UX and system design perspective.

🛠 Project Overview:

Frontend:

• Complete UX/UI redesign rollout
• Implementation of a microfrontend architecture to allow scalable modular development
• Focus on performance, accessibility (WCAG), and mobile responsiveness

Backend:

• Refactor of monolithic backend into Node.js-based microservices
• Building secure, high-performance APIs (REST/GraphQL)
• Implementing shared services for authentication, caching (Redis), and observability
• Event-driven integrations and improved inter-service communication (Kafka optional)

🔍 Requirements:

• Advanced experience with React.js, Node.js, and TypeScript
• Experience working in distributed teams on full stack applications
• Familiarity with microfrontends, scalable system architecture, and service decomposition
• Solid backend design experience (API development, caching, queuing, monitoring)
• CI/CD, Docker, Git, and cloud deployment experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Fluent in Dutch or French (spoken and written)
• ⚠️ Must be EU-based and eligible to work in Belgium (no visa sponsorship offered)

• Start: ASAP
• Duration: Initial 6 months (extension likely)
• Location: Fully Remote (EU hours)
• Rate: €550–€750/day (depending on experience)
• Language: Dutch or French required
