Backend Engineer - Kotlin

VALE Partners is proud to partner with an innovative, customer-focused market leader in their space as they expand their team during an exciting phase of growth. With significant year-on-year growth, they are scaling their in-house technology stack and are looking for multiple Senior Backend Developers.

In this role you'll work on a platform that is used daily by thousands of users. You'll be at the heart of the platforms evolution, working closely with a variety of stakeholders to deliver high-performance features from concept to deployment.

Role Overview:

- Design and implement high-performance APIs

- Optimise PostgreSQL databases and cloud-based systems

- Own features end-to-end from ideation to deployment, monitoring and iteration

- Work on a complex and scalable platform

What you'll ideally have:

- Prior experience with a JVM language (Java, Kotlin, Scala etc)

- Strong PostgreSQL, SQL, RDBMS knowledge

- Experience building in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP)

- Proven ability to ship high-quality code in a fast-moving environment
