Creation (architecture & design) and implementation of network concepts and telecommunication solutions for our systems for railway control technology. You will work on solutions that are used in our products and projects worldwide.

Brief task description

• Creation and implementation of network concepts and solutions for our projects and customers in railway control technology
• In the offer phase, you will provide support with the solution design and implement customer-specific requirements
• Creating configurations for network components such as firewalls, routers and switches and testing them (Cisco, Alcatel Lucent, Hirschmann, Barracuda)
• Create the relevant deliverables and documents at networking level (designs, architecture documents, diagrams, network concepts etc) and manage their life-cycle
• Provide support for commissioning and error analysis in the field
• Ensures effective in-service reporting mechanisms exists (asset management, networking racks layouts etc)
• Act as the contact person for development and customer projects for the secure operation of the networks
• Collaborate with relevant cybersecurity roles in order to implement security controls and policies at network level

In addition, you are in general responsible for further developing our generic network solutions and support the system test of customer-specific solutions.

Skills and experience

• Technical degree or relevant IT/industry recognized network certifications
• 3 yrs experience in developing networking architectures and designs
• Knowledge of complex data networks and network protocols (IPv4, IPv6, TCP, UDP, SNMP, QoS etc.)
• Knowledge of routing, switching and network management (including analysis tools) including being comfortable with CLI
• Able to support solution security with firewalls, IPS/IDS, NAC, VPN, encryption etc
• Capacity to create the test strategy and implementation for network components over the lifecycle

Would be an advantage:

• Experience in configuring network components (routers, switches and firewalls) and operating systems (Linux and Windows)
• Programming/scripting skills in Java, Python and Shell Script
• Know-how in the field of mobile communication (5G), as the basis for FRMCS (Future Railway Mobile Communication System)
