Overview

An exciting opportunity has opened up within a well-established, high-growth company that’s investing heavily in its data capabilities. They’re on the lookout for an experienced Data Engineer with a strong background in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to help scale and shape data systems that drive business insight and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data infrastructure, working across real-time and batch processing use cases
• Collaborate with product and analytics teams to define metrics, build reliable data models, and drive informed decision-making
• Automate and maintain end-to-end data pipelines that support key business initiatives and reporting needs
• Bring domain-driven thinking to the development of reusable data products
• Lead efforts to improve data architecture, system performance, and overall engineering standards
• Act as a subject matter expert for GCP data tooling and mentor others on best practices
• Stay current with the evolving data landscape, identifying opportunities for improvement across the data platform

Core Tech Stack & Skills

• Experience with GCP services including BigQuery, Dataflow (or Apache Beam), Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer (or Apache Airflow)
• Strong command of Python and experience working with dbt
• Understanding of stream processing and designing for both operational and analytical needs
• Exposure to modern data architecture principles and the design of scalable data products
• Comfortable communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Independent, proactive mindset with strong collaboration skills

Desirable Extras

• Familiarity with machine learning pipelines and MLOps principles
• Experience working in remote or distributed environments
• Passion for user-focused products and working in dynamic, fast-moving teams
